Cages

They told us a story about oppression

But they didn’t take note

they became the oppressors

Children in cages

A sin for the ages

Oh history will record this for pages

When you used a brown skinned radical

To eradicate the child

You lost your faith

Because you don’t see a face

You see hate

Because your tribe is shrinking

So you’ve acted quite sickening

Killing the widow, the hungry, the orphan

Is nothing praiseworthy

But you stand and clap on your Sunday’s

Where is justice like a river

Or storming the gates

We all see you now

The Jesus you worship

Must be a fake

Because he was locked in cage

Beaten on the world stage

Hung naked and bled because he didn’t fit in

And your the one’s with the nails

Building children's jails

Denying them soap

Removing all hope

For your leader who gropes.
