Independence Day

Children in cages

Some drowned in the sea

The shackles still rattle

From sea to shining sea

Deemed illegal because

they don’t look like me

This nation is broken

Ruled by racist tyranny

Concentration camps

And revocation of rights

Oppression, collusion

Oh say can you see?

This land is not brave

And no one is free.
