Nature

Sitting among the trees with birds and bees
they don’t judge me when they see me.
It’s freeing just to breathe.
Like a flower I can open up
to the sunshine on a mountain top.
Like the river I can flow
Ever changing, ever winding
not beholden to your stereotype.
Here in Nature I’m just me,
dear society, why can’t this be?
